Bayesian Network for Education Policy Making in Medellín
In Polymaths Consulting, we built a computational Bayesian network model in R for education policy-making in Medellin. The overall purpose of the model is to identify those variables most important in the quality of high school education in Medellin between 2004 and 2014, and then the cause-effect relationships among them. Different scenarios can be simulated in the model, and the resulting insights from these scenarios are meant to provide policymakers with a basis to formulate policies to reduce the gap between the quality of education and vocational training in science, technology and innovation.
An app, called MED-UCATION App, was built in R Shiny to simulate different scenarios.
